Art, Music and Dance, expressed by us

Our local human history, which started 5000 years ago, has until now not been well researched. To prevent a fragmented memory, colonial representations and silenced histories and heroes a lot of research is needed. In this spirit NAAM prepared and signed a Protocol of Research Priorities for Cooperation between the local National Archives, NAAM and NinSee, the Dutch institution on the slavery past of the Kingdom in 2005.
International cooperation agreement
Recently an international cooperation agreement was signed between  NinSee, (Amsterdam), NAAM (Curacao) , Universidad del Valle (Cali, Colombia) and Universidad Claretiana (Quibdo, Colombia). This agreement was set up for the research project entitled From Curacao to the Caribbean in Colombia: the Dutch slave trade, crossing point between South America and the Caribbean.
Projects and facilities
Although spare workspace within the NAAM building is limited, scholars, scientists and other interested parties are always welcome to do their research and check out our library. For more information, please contact NAAM.
